
ABOUT
Paula Srur Carcar is a composer, arranger, and orchestrator from Buenos Aires, Argentina, specializing in orchestral writing and the integration of traditional and folkloric instrumentation from around the world. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music with a degree in Film and Media Scoring and a minor in the Theory of Jazz and Popular Song. Her music has been performed globally by symphonic and chamber orchestras as well as popular music ensembles.
Paula has contributed to a wide range of audiovisual projects in Argentina, New York, Los Angeles and Boston, from feature films to theater productions, and as additional writer for a few Reel One Entertainment productions now streaming on Amazon Prime Video. Some of her featuring credits includes A Missed Connection, Mr. Pawsitively Perfect, No Voy A Parar—2021 International Labor Film Festival’s ODS Lab—Un Recorrido Porteño— Festival Ucine 2021 & 2022, and score producing and composing additional music for Jota Urondo, An Impertinent Chef — selected and premiered at the 2025 San Sebastian International Film Festival.
Paula has collaborated with the Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive (LAFCI), assisting at their Studio Intensive orchestral recording sessions at Warner Bros. Studios’ Eastwood Scoring Stage where she collaborated with legends Conrad Pope, William Ross, Alan Meyerson and Arturo Sandoval. She also participated in the LA Score Production Workshop by Joy Music House—supported by a scholarship from the Alliance for Women Film Composers—composing and producing an original orchestral piece recorded at EastWest Studios. She was selected as a mentee for the 2024-2025 SCL NY Mentorship Program and 2025-2026 Maestra program, and as part of the 2025 VIFF Amp Music and Media Cohort.
In concert settings, she has arranged for Nu Deco Ensemble featuring icon Betty Who; was called as a guest orchestrator by Pops of Color Orchestra for their NY Town Hall concert honoring the work of Lin-Manuel Miranda; and arrange a string orchestra and supervise arrangements for André 3000’s honorary doctorate concert at Agganis Arena.
Recent projects include an original composition premiered at Berklee’s 2025 Career Jam, where she received the Composition Award, orchestrating for Maestra’s First Takes Concert, and assisting as conductor for Oscar-winning composer Mychael Danna during BMI Day.
Her additional experience includes the NYU Screen Scoring Workshops, music assisting the musical AZUL with orchestrations by Alex Lacamoire and Kurt Crowley, and studio assisting at Light and Sound Film Scoring Studio. She continuous to work remotely as an orchestrator for the Multicultural Music Group Orchestra in New York City.
Paula believes deeply in the power of music and storytelling as foundational elements of culture. She is passionate about engaging in projects that celebrate and integrate diverse traditions through the creative fusion of these expressive art forms.
